Semana Santa

Spring Break is a little different in Mexico. All of the schools have off the same weeks, Semana Santa and the following week. Two weeks! I was so excited and kept wondering where to go and how to get there - Oaxaca, Caribe, D.F., bus, plane, hitchhicking, or even enjoying Merida sin school. In the end, I decided to do a little of everything. I spent a large part of the first week spending time with friends in Merida. Many are from the north of Mexico and Mexico City, so its kind of like going there in the sense that a taste of the city came to me. From there my plan is a roadtrip with my friend to the jungles and cascades of Palenque, Chiapas. After that I am busing solo to Chetumal, Mexico where I´m hoping to meet up with a friend from my school and boat on over to Belize to enjoy some Carribean life with a friend I met there last time.
